Mail Setup

In order to access email via a local program (ie, Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape Mail), there are four things to consider (for illustration, we will use the example email account: myemail@domain.com):

  1. Incoming (POP3) Server: mail.domain.com
  2. Outgoing (SMTP) Server: mail.domain.com
  3. Username: myemail
  4. Password: (the password assigned in the Mail Manager to "myemail" -- not necessarily the same password as your main domain!)

Note:  If you set your Outgoing (SMTP) server to "mail.domain.com" you need to make sure you Check Mail before you are able to Send Mail. This procedure is a spam preventative measure.

Note:  Some ISP's do NOT allow foreign relaying. This means you cannot use "mail.domain.com" as your Outgoing (SMTP) server. In this case, contact your ISP for their SMTP server. Some companies that do not allow foreign relaying are: Earthlink / Mindspring & some AOL accounts.
